Staccato Thunderhorn Drum Kit formerly played by Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain. This is the world's coolest drum kit with the most incredible history behind it! Millions of people watched celebrities Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Notting Hill) with A.J. Odudu (Big Brother, Strictly Come Dancing) and Olympian Derek Redmond present this exact drum kit to the entire nation on episode 6 of The Greatest Auction on TV's Channel 4, where our studio's owner, Keith Gannon, made the winning bid. This is the ultimate statement piece for any collector of drums and all things rock and roll!
This is a vintage 7-piece Staccato Thunderhorn kit that includes prototype drums that were not available to the public and kept in the collection of Staccato's founder, Pat Townshend. Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and his younger brother Chris were each 25% investors in Staccato Instruments and would have absolutely been familiar with the drums in this kit, which were loaned to the biggest drummers in the world and maintained by Pat Townshend when they weren't in use. You wouldn't be wrong to say that Mick Jagger was 25% owner of these drums! A letter of provenance from Pat signed before his death in 2011 accompanies the drums.
This is a drum kit that can make you stand out sonically and 1,000% make you stand out visually on stage. You can see Staccato drums in Rammstein's famous "Amerika" music video as well as Bow Wow Wow's hit song "I Want Candy." You have also seen these in the "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" movie! Paint them, wrap them, airbrush the, graffiti the...there's so many options to make them stand out even more! The kick drums are designed to look like lower torso of a human with their legs out!
