RARE 41 year old vintage USA Fender Lead II American Strat with the ultra rare premium hard case rarely ever seen! This is the finest example for sale in the world and in better condition than any we have ever seen! Absolute time capsule and case queen. These guitars were famously played by Bono, Eric Clapton and Steve Morse. One of the more brilliant features is the factory phase toggle switch next to the pickup selector toggle switch. The X1 pickups captured the essence of the early 80's era. The string-through hardtail bridge is unique for a strat, and the headstock for this year was slightly smaller than the production strat headstock and modelled after the 1954 version. The guitar was totally unique and an exciting innovation for the end of the CBS era of Fender. We have no doubt this is the very best example for sale in the world. The case alone is worth several hundred and is impossible to find, especially in this condition with all latches perfectly intact. This is an absolute must-have USA Fender for the player and collector. We will never see another one like it in this condition.
